Holt 4 miles; Fakenham 10 miles; Sheringham 10 miles; Dereham 16 miles; Cromer 15 miles and Norwich 18 miles.
Briston is a large village situated in North Norfolk offering a superb local Store, a good bakery and excellent butchers cum green grocers shop. There is a village post office and in addition there are two pubs one of which offers very good food - the Green Man and the John H Stracey. (N.B. The John H. Stracey is currently closed for refurbishment.)
The village boasts a sports playing field with tennis courts, a bowling green together with a children’s play area. There is also a large village green.
Situated in a wonderfully central position, the village provides a good base from which to explore the surrounding area. The historic Georgian Town of Holt is just 5 minutes drive away and the Blakeney coastal nature reserve just 15 minutes by car.
The area has much to offer whether touring by car, walking along the many footpaths, cycling the country lanes, taking a boat trip to watch the seals, fishing (sea/coarse/fly) or just relaxing on the beach at one of the many coastal resorts.
